The Algerian packaging and printing market is growing quickly, constituting a virtuous cycle of technology investments (mostly in foreign machinery) and ability to meet the demand with quality products.
This is confirmed by market data, and also by the success of the trade fair, now in its third edition. We are speaking of printpack alger, organized by the local branch of fairtrade today (Heidelberg, D), which has established itself as a meeting and business market place.

According to some exhibitors in the 2010 edition, not only does printpack alger help strengthen ones brand by promotion throughout the area exhibiting leading-edge technologies and solutions, it is also a boon for new contacts and the signing of supply contracts.
The next encounter is scheduled for 10th to 12th May 2011 at the Safex Exhibition Center, Algiers.

Exports and Imports - In 2009, Algeria imported machinery and equipment for packaging and printing amounting to 190 million euro (statistics of the German industry federation VDMA) and these machines have among other things contributed to the growth of the national packaging industry, that since 2007 has seen exports increase from 92 to 132.9 million dollars.
These trends are explained principally by the increase in the average disposable income, due to the economic recovery, but also as a direct result of the second national plan for investment 2010-2014, which allocated 150 billion dollars in support of the publishing, food processing as well as the printing and packaging segments.
