Gluing systems: a success story
Organization, service and technology: the growth of Robatech and the new “melt on demand” system launched at Interpack.
Robatech Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the large Swiss producer of industrial systems for adhesive application, continues to grow following an impressive 2013 balance sheet.
And the growth continues with renewed vigor, the concern’s turnover rising by +15% in the first quarter, «in part thanks to the close relationship that for years has linked us to machine builders (packaging, converting, graphics, wood and construction processes are the main outlet sectors for Robatech systems, Ed.) and end users, who especially appreciate our aptitude for innovation».
A truly satisfied Davide Morten spoke at the concern’s stand at Interpack, which was set up with important investments and co-marketing activities in order to maximize Robatech’s visibility. He was satisfied with the impressive flow of visitors, the new “melt on demand” technology his concern offered in Duesseldorf, the organizational and logistical developments within Robatech and - with good reason - the success of its Italian subsidiary, which recently won him the title of regional sales director for Latin language countries, namely Italy, France, Spain and South America.
Revamping facilities. Indeed, the Swiss multinational is evolving on all fronts, encouraged by successes on the market and sustained by the resulting strengthening of its international sales network. Although maintaining in-house production, in fact, Robatech is reinforcing the de-centralization of its commercial structure, with the support of subsidiaries equipped with all the necessary structures for guaranteeing all around service and that proactiveness that makes an innovator of every area.
«In Italy - Morten explains - we have a warehouse of installations ready for delivery, an extensive assistance network, the personnel and components necessary for making quick and effective repairs and a laboratory for testing. The jewel of our resources, this center is used both by our customers and by glue manufacturers and enables us not only to offer outstanding service to users, but also to closely follow developments and orientations in the market. It’s an approach that pays off, so much so that our Cesena site was proving too small, so we acquired new, more suitable one 5 kilometers away».
Developments in technology. But the real star of the Robatech stand at Interpack was technology. Indeed, the global packaging fair provided an opportunity for the concern to present a melting system that starts from granulates and is activated on demand, melting and dispensing only the required amount of glue, when needed.
Thanks to this design, the resin does not degrade or risk burning, maximizing adhesion quality and effectiveness. Furthermore, by activating the melting phase only when needed, the user reduces energy consumption. «Not to mention - Morten comments - the benefits in terms of operator safety and environmental impact, which, as is known, represent a must for Robatech».
