Pharmaceuticals: a sector fair

As announced with due emphasis during Ipack-Ima: the triennial show Pharmintech (Bologna, 17th-19th April 2013), focused on process technologies and packaging for the pharmaceutical industry, is approaching its fourth edition and changes pace.

Next year, for the first time, Pharmintech will take place in sequence with a one day overlap (April 19th) with the show Cosmofarma, dedicated to health, beauty and wellness products and services in the pharmacy, giving rise to an extensive and undoubtedly interesting sector fair. Moreover,  the new company Pharmintech Srl takes off, based on an agreement signed between BolognaFiere and Ipack-Ima, with the participation of Unindustria Bologna (President Roberto Kerkoc of Unindustria Bologna and CEO Guido Corbella of Ipack-Ima SpA, with President of Ipack-Ima Sp Luigi Gregotti and president of BolognaFiere Duccio Campagnoli on the board of directors).
Hence, overcoming barriers and parochialism, a complete international showcase serving an area of Italian production that stands out for innovation and commercial dynamism has been created, this too also abroad. «Pharmintech - declares Guido Corbella -  has even gained ground as a fair outside Europe and, to make it even more international, we're promoting it (with excellent results) in China, India and on the new Asian markets».

«But aboveall - the manager underlines - with Pharmintech we have managed to create a business community, giving awareness and visibility to a lively and inventive segment in full growth and with exports at 88%». This is also borne witness to by the Pharmintech Observatory, drawn up by Professor Giampaolo Vitali: In Italy  the pharmaceutical sector and its supplier industry show indicators steadily above the national average, with sales of nearly 36 billion euros, 130,000 employees and wages at 4.5 billion euros. Focusing attention on the supplier industry, which is experiencing a very encouraging first half of 2012, the selfsame industry registers 64 thousand employed with total wages of 1,400 million euros, a production of 11,000 million euros with an added value of 3,600 million and 600 million in investments.

«These are results - says Pharmintec 2013 president Sergio Dompé - supported by a development model focussed on collaboration between companies: a network model, capable of promoting the effective interaction between the different actors involved while at the same time returning the SMEs to centre stage, accelerating the renewal of the general industrial approach».
