Mitsubishi Electric Italia inaugurates Mirai
The new Vimercate headquarters of Mitsubishi Electric Italia, designed to foster collaboration and cater to a constantly evolving world of work, is off the ground.
Last Sept. 22, Mitsubishi Electric's Italian subsidiary inaugurated its new headquarters located inside the Energy Park in Vimercate (MB), designed to better support the work activities of the different business units and new ways of collaboration.
Mirai, from the Japanese word for "future," is the name given to the modern facility, a model of efficiency and sustainability, equipped with "LEED Core and Shell" energy efficiency and carbon footprint certification.
"The opening of Mitsubishi Electric's new headquarters is part of a broad development strategy in Europe and involves Italy as a major hub devoted to innovation," said Shunji Kurita, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Europe, who spoke on the occasion. "This is especially important today in a context of great change and new ways of working."
The ground floor of the new building is almost entirely dedicated to the showroom, which allows visitors to view products according to the different areas of expertise: Air Conditioning, Factory Automation, Automotive and Semiconductors. Ample space is dedicated to laboratories and training rooms that can accommodate more than 80 people.
The interiors of the new headquarters, designed by DEGW with the collaboration of FUD (Lombardini22 Group brand), were conceived to encourage collaboration and interaction among colleagues, with large open spaces also designed to encourage privacy and concentration. Together they make up an attractive, practical and comfortable environment, thanks in part to the smooth alternation of institutional and evocative themes and Italian/Japanese suggestions.
«In a period of great change, it becomes essential to satisfy the growing need for collaboration, for sharing spaces, for involving people in the development of new ideas"» explained Mario Poltronieri, president of the Italian branch of Mitsubishi Electric. «In the design of the new building, we have placed our employees at the center, providing them with usable spaces at all times of the working day, but also places where they can experience moments of relaxation, facilitating both socialization and the possibility of easily alternating between on-site and remote work».
A productive ecosystem
Great attention, therefore, to the issues of sustainability, light, acoustic and climatic comfort and, in the future, also easy maintenance.
And it could not be otherwise for a group that has made environmental protection its mission, constantly striving to develop technologies with reduced energy impact, with the aim of supporting customers and partners in the digital transition.
Having achieved in 2021 all the goals of the Enviromental Vision introduced in 2007, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is now projected toward the goals of the new sustainability program to 2050, first and foremost the reduction of greenhouse gases throughout the value chain, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions to zero.
