New look for fruit in syrup range
Specialist wild mushroom and forest fruit in syrup processor Borde (Saugues, Haute Loire, France) is updating its range of eight varieties of red fruits with new multilayer packaging from RPC Containers Corby.
The attractive and practical litre jars feature a PP/EVOH/PP construction to provide effective product protection against oxygen ingress and give an ambient shelf life of up to 18 months while at the same time conserving the taste, aroma and qualities of the fruit.
The jars feature a wide mouth, for easy spooning and pouring with a 8 cm closure supplied by RPC Halstead. Their lightweight, easy handling and high resistance to breakage make them ideal for busy kitchen environments. Important, lastly, the contribution in communication. The design and contact clear surface of the label and the new logo helps to maximise the on-shelf appeal of the carefully-selected colourful fruits. The image of the fruit dominates, expressing naturalness and enabling immediate identification of the contents, thus contributing to creating a coordinated and strongly connoted image of the entire line.
The user. A family-business now in its third generation, Borde is the market leader in woodland mushrooms (wild mushrooms foraged by hand) with products supplied to both restaurants and consumers worldwide. It also produces a broad range or red fruits for direct consumption and the preparation/decoration of desserts of all kinds.
«We wanted a packaging solution that conveyed our heritage and expertise while creating a distinctive individual identity for our red fruits», explains Pierre Rasse, marketing director. «As part of this the packs had to be attractive, practical and ensure the high quality of the fruits was protected and maintained. The RPC Classic jars have exactly met our brief».
