Gatorade clad in sleeves
Gatorade, number one sports drink in the world, changes its look. This was announced by the multinational PepsiCo, as part of its product portfolio renewals strategy, that presented the new Gatorade bottle “Kenny” 500ml PET, designed to ensure a better usability during sports.
A complete redesign that also goes for the label with the new G. logo, the application of which will be managed by Sacmi’s innovative formsleeve+.
The big producer has “won” the prestigious order thanks to the plus of this modularly built machine that is versatile to use, highly flexible in handling materials and can reduce the label roll cost through the use of MDO (Machine Direction Oriented) instead of TDO (Transversal Direction Oriented) technology.
Formsleeve+ has been chosen by PepsiCo to manage the entire production of formats of the new Gatorade, from 500 ml to 1000 ml in PET, for the Italian market. It allows the creation and application of a “full body” and/or “partial body” sleeve from MDO plastic rolls at a rate that can reach 40 thousand bottles/h.
Other features that make the formsleeve+ stand out are ease of use, low maintenance costs and energy savings favored by the integration of the label creation and application stages, as well as the special liquid substance used to close the sleeve. Of completely natural origin, it is used at room temperature and never comes into contact with the bottle, ensuring the hygiene of the process, the product and the working environment.
