Girth ring for large rotary systems

Sew-Eurodrive introduces the girth rings made for motion transmission in large rotary systems to the market. Their main feature is theur modularity that enables significant advantages in terms of production, logistics and economising.

Indeed Sew-Eurodrive girth rings are not made in one piece but in several sectors of equal size, which can be produced on standard machines with considerable savings in terms of costs and delivery times. Similarly handling during their implementation is also easier and faster than that required by a whole girth ring; in addition, in the event of damage to the girth ring, only the sector concerned need be replaced, with obvious savings. A further advantage is seen in terms of transport, with times and costs much lower than those required by a one piece girth ring.

Technical characteristics. Sew-Eurodrive produces girth rings with standard diameters between 4 and 16 meters, but the modular construction allows for larger diameters. The maximum width is 600 mm, with pinion power of 2500 kW; the gears are available in 20, 25, 30 and 40 mm modules with other dimensions on request. The use of austempered cast irons (ADI) gives these girth ring superior mechanical properties and high wear resistance. The manufacturer supplies the single piece as well as the complete "package", including pinion, reduction units, couplings, motors and stands, and of course all the consultancy needed.
