An innovatory control platform

The Pilz PSS 4000 control platform is offered as a tool for the creation of systems featuring an extreme decentralisation of the I/O and the control functions.

The electronic modules of the PSSuniversal I/O decentralised system, as well as constituting a strongpoint of the field interface, stand as the design basis for new programmable PSS 4000 controllers, PSsu PLC and PSSu multi, available with different performances to obtain targeted solutions in both safety and automation.
The Ethernet Real Time “SafetyNET p” guarantees the connectivity between system control elements to transport safety, automation, diagnostic and display data  - and in the near future motion control data - towards high performance HMIs.

A new editor. Among the most recent developments of Pilz’s PSS 4000 system we find the LD (Ladder Diagram) program editor, that enables the management of safety functions up to SIL3. PAS LD is also part of the series of editors that conform to IEC-61131-3 standard language and enables the programming of automation and safety functions on the same standardised basis.
On top of that, for the first time in the field of industrial automation, TÜV Süd has classified all these languages as LVL (Low Variability Language), thanks to controls and to the integrated limitations in PAS4000 and to the support of input tools. Thus the requisites for the development of a safety applicative software (SRASW) according to international standards such as EN 62061 and EN 13849-1 can be satisfied.
