Interroll: fair with cooking show

Interroll Italia put on an unusual performance at Cibus Tec. Under the spotlight: the hygiene, excellence and cost/performance ratio of the concern’s EHEDG certified synchronous drum motors and… “pop cuisine” by Davide Oldani, who prepared his famous risotto for everyone in attendance.

Interroll Italia, the affiliate of the group of the same name, specialized in systems, components and accessories for intralogistics, founded approximately one and one half years ago, christened its first fair appearance with a special event. Last 30 October at Cibus Tec, the concern invited the renowned chef Davide Oldani to hold an exclusive live cooking show for its guests (see Edizioni Dativo’s Facebook page).

The Italian management, represented for the occasion by commercial director Maurizio Catino, wished to highlight the link between safety in the food industry and haute cuisine, or rather, between the importance of hygienic standards and innovation throughout the food supply chain. And while Oldani definitely delivered (his risotto was simply perfect, his cooking lesson highly stimulating, his manner charming), Interroll, for its part, presented a series of synchronous drum motors with outstanding hygiene properties, suitable for applications in aseptic environments.

EHEDG certification and other advantages. After an extensive series of tests, these components received certification from the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG), making them, as the concern points out, the only ones in Europe to enjoy such a recognition. Indeed, Interroll’s R&D  worked to develop components of absolute safety for all builders of machinery destined for delicate and sensitive production tasks - food, but also pharmaceuticals and packaging generally - that require solutions that meet high international hygiene standards.
For this reason, Interroll drum motors stand out for their reliability, robustness and great ease of cleaning, making the difference in installations requiring frequent cleaning of the production and transport lines. Therefore, they feature IP66 and IP67 protection grades, as well as extra smooth stainless steel surfaces, facilitating extremely quick cleaning using high pressure water jets.
However, the Swiss concern has not neglected other the features that converge to make this type of drive competitive: Interroll drum motors also represent a particularly advantageous solution from an energy standpoint and are economical and compact, with reduced bulk.

Technology for efficiency. Interroll works with systems integrators, machine builders, planners and software designers to transform the complexities of production into smart and scalable solutions with a wide spectrum of application fields, among which the food industry. In response to the requirements of these sectors, the concern immediately began focusing on the development of economical solutions.
According to user testimonials, Interroll technologies enhance warehouse space usage by 50% and enable a decisive increase in activity at distribution centers, as well as a reduction in energy consumption amounting to up to 50% for glue transport. In particular, Interroll has developed for the food processing and packaging sector roller conveyors (of which it produces 10 million per year) and motorized rollers and controls including the Interroll RollerDrive and the brand new corresponding command platform Conveyor Control. Of course the catalog also includes super compact synchronous drum motors, characterized by high torque and dynamic drive, with excellent total energy yield (82%: 89% motor and 92.95% transmission gears) during execution at a maximum temperature of 45 °C.

From its headquarters in Sant’Antonino, Switzerland, Interroll coordinates 31 companies with approximately 1,800 employees in Europe, America and the Asian Pacific, supplying approximately 23,000 customers worldwide with a vast catalog in four product areas: rollers; conveyor drives and motors; conveyors and sorters; and warehouses.
The group tops many global production rankings. For example, 80% of control systems installed in airports worldwide and 6 out of 10 crates conveyed at supermarkets are transported by Interroll drum motors.
