Luxe Pack Monaco 2019

Combining luxury and creativity, via technology and respect for emerging demands in terms of sustainability in relation to selective packaging.

This year too the organizers of Idice achieved this goal, strengthened by «a 33-year long history, a reputation that has grown over time as a meeting point for luxury packaging professionals, as well as a Luxe Pack network by now active in the four corners of the globe» as Nathalie Grosdidier, executive director of Idice, underlined.

The October 2019 edition - more international than ever - offered a global overview of the trends that are marking the high-end sector in terms of materials, packaging solutions, finishes and customizations, with an eye to the systems of traceability or authentication, to smart and connected packaging, to 3D design, to online sales up to the “formulation ecosystem”.

The ideas and practices for sustainable development, now no longer optional even in luxury, are transversal to all the exhibition sectors.

A large amount of the exhibitors testified to this, with their innovative materials designed for a careful management of resources, including single materials or those that can be easily separated for a better recyclability: all however able to satisfy the quality requirements of the brand owners.

To confirm the commitment of companies in sustainability practices, the Green Awards Luxe Pack awards, which this year went to Edelman (for the packaging “Less is More”) and to Eastman (for circular economy policies). Estal in turn gained the special mention for Wild Glass, 100% recycled glass for the production of designer bottles.

Lastly the dates of the next edition of Luxe Pack Monaco have been announced, which will take place from 28 to 30 September 2020.

GUALA CLOSURES
NěSTGATE™ line of “connected” caps

Intelligent technology that revolutionizes the relationship between consumer and producer: by bringing the mobile phone closer to the bottle, the caps allow access to exclusive and personalized contents (product information, tasting tips, games, promotions and social media).

At the moment, there are seven stoppers for wine, liqueurs and olive oil, with an elegant design and a wide choice of variants: in wood and cork, anti-filling caps, aluminum or resin coating for the luxury segment.

Thanks to NFC technology, with a simple “touch” of the cap the consumer will be transported in the universe of the brand which, in turn, will be able to collect valuable data for customer relations and to check the traceability of the products.

The Guala Closures R&D center is committed to expanding the NěSTGATE™ line with other technologies: QR code, voice connection, augmented reality.

COSMOGEN and PYC
Ecological solutions and applicators for packaging and airless bottles

Following the triple track of social, environmental and economic sustainability, Cosmogen packaging and applicators - made of bio-based materials, FSC wood and rechargeable - embrace the perspective of less is better.

At the same time, PYC (a subsidiary of Cosmogen Expansion Group) has developed six lines of airless bottles with the ECOCERT brand. Simpler supplies thanks to a logistics platform in France, soon to be opened.

COSFIBEL Group
Premium offer for niche markets

The “Make and Trade” approach (design, production, procurement, logistics and merchandising) of Cosfibel Goup allows you to give comprehensive answers to the market.

The development of innovative solutions and services for international customers is focused on the luxury goods sector, in particular cosmetics and perfumes, wines, spirits, gourmet foods.

Among the products: multi-material caskets, gift boxes and cases (metal, cardboard, wood, plastic...), promotional accessories and travel items.

FEDRIGONI
Arena® Papers for packaging and printing

White and ivory papers and cards in four shades, three types of surface and infinite basis weights: Fedrigoni Arena® is the result of a year of planning and careful ‘green’ choices, which have taken advantage of the Group’s long experience in natural papers, integrating and aggregating the existing to create a real “system”.

Together with the subsidiary Arconvert, it highlighted the versatility and the features that make Arena® an ideal support also for creating attractive boxes, destined for high-end items, with counter-fiber formats for sealing the crease lines.

The environmental impact of processing is very limited, thanks to the uniformity of the range, which makes it possible to reduce waste due to the passage from one production to another and to limit the use of wastewater and fresh water, because less washing is required. Arena Natural is OBA-free (it does not use optical brighteners).

PINK FROGS, ALBERTINI PACKAGING GROUP, MEDICOS GROUP
Green co-marketing

From the formula to the packaging, a 360° sustainable project: this is the proposal of Pink Frogs, intending to offer an already defined identity and a starting point for the launch of a new cosmetic, with a smaller and controlled environmental impact.

With this in mind, it has developed Hydra Memory Mask, an innovative formula with a “memory effect” texture that, thanks to the warmth of the skin, adapts to the shape of the face and does not drip.

Formulated with 92.7% of ingredients of natural origin and a plus of carefully selected active ingredients, it guarantees hydration and energy to the skin.

Hydra Memory Mask is contained in an elegant jar created by Medicos Group: at the same time recyclable and rechargeable, it guarantees undeniable economic and environmental advantages, compared to a standard jar.

The Albertini Packaging Group contributed to the project by creating a “multipurpose” case: in addition to recreating the premium and quality effect, in full respect of the environment thanks to the use of FSC certified paper, it can in fact be reused as practical empty pockets.

TEXEN

Eco mascara

The mascara packaging has been deliberately developed to be as generic as possible, able to adapt to a wide and varied range of applicators and brushes.

It is made with recycled material (PCR) or that of biological origin, carefully selected by the Texen Lab and is offered with an ecological brush (Ponzini).
