Paths of production and knowledge
Cutting edge integrated lines for primary and secondary packaging of broadscale consumption goods and industrial processing systems: at Interpack, Coesia’s entire technological offer was “on hand”. With an added bonus: the capacity to imagine packaging, from the design to industrialization, following a rational and organic research itinerary.
At Interpack, Coesia displayed the best of its offer on a surface of 2,000 m2 and set up, in a dedicated area - the extensive and engaging “Experience room” - the process of creating new packaging, from the first meetings with the customer, to the designer, prototype and industrialization.
With the convergence of 10 of the 14 concerns that make up the Bologna-based mutlinational, but also some experts specialized in the group’s various areas of competency (design, materials, filling technologies...), many visitors were thus treated to a live demonstration of the type of service offered by the large integrated group to anyone seeking quality solutions and new ideas.
Brands and machines. The great effort invested in clearly communicating in one solution the many faces of a group diversified by technical competencies, processing and packaging types and outlet sectors (cosmetics/pharma, confectionery & bakery, tea, coffee, tobacco...) was palpable and admirable.
On show was a complete line for filling and packaging coffee capsules, made up of an Acma Qi320 machine, combined with a new Acma MiniWrapper and an R.A Jones Legacy3 for secondary packaging, the whole driven by FlexLink systems.
This complete line effectively represented the group’s capacity for integrating the different technology cultures developed in the individual concerns. And Coesia, as a matter of fact, is moving right in this very direction: promoting the brands that continue to supply tailor made machines while working with integrated and global systems in mind.
Also in the spirit of sharing is the project that has at its heart the development of the “Coesia Engineering Center”, considered a sort of “innovation multiplier”, which will enable setting up a network of the competencies developed by all the group’s concerns, thus accomplishing a further step forward on the road to cohesion.
But to return to the coordinated efforts at Interpack, the geography of the large stand was designed in order to valorize a technology that is on the cutting edge both in terms of primary and secondary packaging solutions (e.g. flow packs and Acma packs, Volpak horizontal-form-fill-seal solutions and R.A Jones for filling and the production of flexible packaging, and Norden and Citus-Kalix tube-filling and cartoning lines) and of the latest benchmarks in industrial processes reached by FlexLink, HAPA, ADMV, and Laetus (vision control, traceability and transport...). And for the first time also IPI, the group’s latest acquisition, completing its portfolio of aseptic packaging solutions.
The packaging that has been and that is to come
In the Experience Room, a mutlimedia space set up at Interpack for the sake of clarity of presentation, Coesia has imagined – and shown – the experiential path followed by the concerns of the group in designing and industrializing a packaging solution, naturally with the use of efficient and effective packaging systems.
This path included, among other things, the representation of experiences made in flexible packaging, starting with the classic 4 seal bag, up to the latest Volpak proposals, whose flexible packaging solutions have advanced ergonomics, function and recyclability properties; also, the Experience Room presented the group’s knowhow in rigid packaging, with its wide offer of solutions made by various concerns of the group.
Not to be forgotten, finally, is the presentation of a highly intuitive and user-friendly interface on all machines that, thanks to its graphic approach, focuses the operator’s attention on the image, facilitating visualization of any problem.
To sum up, Coesia has shown that it represents an engine of technological creativity, capable of offering a real contribution to whomever needs to create an impactful alternative packaging or “simply” one that is easy to use and perfectly suited to one’s production needs.
