Italian oil: a bottle for Expo

Awarded in April at the Istituto Europeo di Design-IED, Milan, the winners of the competition “Only Italian olives, a bottle for Expro”, promoted by Symbola-Fondazione for the Italian Qualities and the producer trade association Unaprol, to design a bottle capable of communicating the values of 100% Made in Italy extravirgin olive oil.

The undertaking  is part of a far broader education campaign with the aim of augmenting appreciation of the precious food commodity, supported by Verallia (the Saint Gobain glassmaker s group) and by the producer of caps and closures Guala Closures, that tasked the students of the Masters in Brand Management and Communication and in Product Design from the IED. On the podium an all-woman team on the rostrum, made up of Damla Teoman, Duangporn Saenghiranwathana and Ivy Aning, with a work entitled “Flow”: a bottle appreciated for its attractive shape and symbolism, that offers no problems in the production phase and that can be easily made in other formats.

The jury that awarded the bottle  included the president of Symbola Ermete Realacci, Jacopo Bargellini of IED Milano, Pietro Sandali of Unaprol, Roberto Pedrazzi of Verallia, Gabriele Lusignani of Guala as well as the vice president of ADI, the Italian Industrial Design Association, Giovanna Talocci.
It will be officially presented at Expo 2015 during a convention dedicated to our Italian olive oil, as an important part of the cultural project with the aim of promoting the Italian values of tradition, territory, flavour and health.
