Proposals for technological “upgrades” at the end of the line

D.C.M. is a benchmark partner for OEMs, who are required to propose increasingly automated, flexible and integrated systems for each step of the production cycle. In order to optimize the processes at the end of the line, the company provides customized solutions, from palletizing to e-commerce logistics, which offer sure advantages in terms of efficiency.

The constant growth of industrial production, as well as the recent expansion of e-commerce, has led companies producing consumer goods to look for innovative solutions with high technological content to manage even the packaging, transport and “end-of-line” phases, maximizing efficiency and productivity levels.

In order to keep up with the evolution of industrial models, machine manufacturers have long understood the need to enrich their product range by integrating new end-of-line options, such as automatic or semi-automatic palletizing systems. At the same time, to manage production destined for e-commerce, ad hoc solutions are increasingly being introduced, for example, to manage the last phase of packaging before shipment.

In response to these specific needs, D.C.M. - for over 40 years a supplier of machines and auxiliary equipment with high technological content for the packaging industry - works in close contact with machine manufacturers to offer customized solutions to meet market demands. .

Robotic collaborative palletizing

Among the most recent innovations in the D.C.M. portfolio is the Squirrel robotic island, which offers considerable advantages compared to the technologies of common palletizers on the market, thanks to its ability to operate in small spaces, combining maximum operating efficiency with the highest safety standards. The innovative control software, in fact, allows the unit to switch from collaborative mode, capable of guaranteeing risk-free interaction for operators, to high-speed mode; the robot, mounted on a telescopic axis, can reach 2 m of palletizing.

The powerful and easy-to-use ALCE (Automatic Layer Configuration Editor) software for pallet layer management allows the creation and optimization of layer configurations in just a few steps.

The maximum payload that the gripper can lift varies from 12 to 20 kg, with the possibility of gripping 1/2/3 boxes with a total weight of 10 or 16 kg, always depending on the model considered.

Ad hoc solutions for e-commerce

For the filling of e-commerce envelopes, D.C.M. offers a semi-automatic solution capable of speeding up order fulfillment operations. The system makes available to the operator an open envelope, already labeled with the shipping address, ready to receive the content and then be closed manually. The reduction of the work done by the operator allows to manage a greater number of envelopes every hour, with an increase in productivity up to 300%.

In order to guarantee a safe packaging, able to keep the content safe from accidental impacts, D.C.M. proposes, moreover, “Box to product” a semi-automatic packaging line that creates a protective packaging. This system allows multi-product configurations, with variable quantities and types of items purchased, the elimination of filling kits, the harmonization of packaging, the standardization of the logistic flow and the automation of the process.
