Sterilising in EB (and only the preform)
A new method of sterilisation based on electron-beam technology, that only treats the preform instead of the complete bottle, significantly reducing, , the costs of the operation and the size of the system while offering the same results.
This is the proposal that impressed us the most among the many featured at the Krones stand, the officials of the German group declared, attracting the immediate attention of Asian visitors, who have made extensive use of the EB for some time. It is included in the system Contiform AseptBloc with sterile blowing, filling and capping machine, requires no additional equipment and uses a single command for the entire process, achieving productivity of up to 48,000 containers/hour.
The principle of operation is simple: immediately after heating, the preforms are transferred to the sterile zone where they are treated with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in the gaseous state. In addition to being more regular than bottles, the preforms are also much smaller, which considerably reduces the work load, treatment costs and times.
We also report the new BEVkeg, developed in collaboration with Micro Matic: a self-supporting disposable PET keg, 20 liter, with petaloid base, integrated with patented BEVmate pouring system, that folds within itself as it empties. Designed for breweries, it will soon also proposed for soft drinks.
