Achema 2012 Frankfurt, 18th-22nd June 2012
Success assured for the upcoming edition of the Achema.
The organizers (Dechema, Frankfurt, D) of the show-conference dedicated to the chemical and biotechnology industry expect further growth on the previous event in 2009 that featured 3,767 exhibitors and more than 173,000 qualified participants. The most lively segments are those of metering, control and automation equipment as well as pharmaceutical, packaging and storage technology.
Exceptionally large the share of international exhibitors, approximately 50% of the total, with representatives from China and India showing a particularly strong increase, where Turkey, South Korea and some Eastern Europe countries also feature.
Achema is held every three years combined with a congress that hosts around 900 talks given by scientists, researchers and technicians covering the entire sector.
Among the key issues of this edition stands energy efficiency in the various aspects of use as well as the generation and development of renewable and alternative storage technologies, in which the chemical and related industries can contribute significantly, eg by developing new batteries, and new concepts of heat storage.
Central too the passing from fossil fuels to renewable resources and the development of biotechnologies to which a forum on the virtual platform "BiobasedWorld at ACHEMA” is
