Cibus 2014 5-8th May, Parma

Italian fine food meets the world of distribution for both Italy and abroad. A year off from Expo 2015, the international food business community will be rendezvousing at Parma 5-8th May, “hosted” by the 17th edition of Cibus, where important changes are prospected.

The traditional show will in fact become a multichannel fair, open to all the food chains, both productive and distributive, in an evolution dictated by the market, but also by the world event Expo 2015.
Flexible the offer at the fair, that will see the large food concerns alongside the medium to smaller sized ones, foreign and Italian distributor chains alongside the retail trade and the duty free, the big Italian brands alongside niche excellences such as biological and gluten free, traditional restauranteurship alongside travel and organized foodservice.
Imperative for Cibus 2014 is once more the “increase  in Italian food exports”, without obviously overlooking the revitalisation of the domestic market.
The statistical data on the run of the market in 2013 released at the end of February by Federalimentare (the food industry Confindustria member association, partner of Fiere di Parma for Cibus) on the period January/November 2013 is eloquent: the drop in sales on the Italian market amounts to 2.1%, while exports continue to grow and reach a +7.1%.
On this count the project “Cibus Market Check” continues, that has enabled tens of Italian firms to encounter distributors of the Countries of prospective interest for Italian exports.
Cibus will also be hosting the new “Italian Region B2B” area, where the SMEs of the regions that produce typical Italian relishes will be able to spotlight their proposals under the eyes of foreign importers on the lookout for fine food specialities.
Many the special events and undertakings, illustrated in detail on the website  www.cibus.it/iniziative.
