Ipack-Ima and Meat-Tech: featured changes

The two events organized by Ipack-Ima Srl, a joint venture between UCIMA and Fiera Milano, show excellent success prospects.

This is shown by the figures (90% of space already allocated 4 months prior to the start of the shows, over 1,000 exhibitors expected) and the facts: brilliant performance in preregistration, new services to improve business, clear itineraries and more internationalism, also thanks to the strategic alliance with Messe Duesseldorf.

Fiera Milano, 5 February 2018. To present the 2018 Edition of Ipack-Ima and Meat-Tech to exhibitors, announcements were made by, from left: Bernd Jablonowski, Riccardo Cavanna, Enrico Aureli, Domenico Lunghi

In opening the encounter with exhibitors on 5 February at the Fiera Milano Club House, Riccardo Cavanna and Domenico Lunghi (respectively President and CEO of the organizing company) told us how and why 2018 represents a turning point for the two events scheduled to be held from 29 May to 1 June.
We start from a first, obvious fact: on stage, together with them, sat Ucima President Enrico Aureli and Bernd Jablonowski, Global Processing and Packaging Portfolio Director of Messe Düsseldorf. Bolstered by the agreement to provide mutual support for processing and packaging events organized by Ucima and interpack Alliance around the world, they testified to the degree the agreement and cooperation between different actors can create value, to the benefit of an entire industry.

Laboratory of ideas and technology
Invigorated by the presence of large domestic manufacturers, which had deserted the event for some years «in particular Ipack-Ima - as Cavanna stressed in opening the event - is once again fundamental occasion for promoting “made in Italy” in all its globality. Here much is due to the intention to build a sector event featuring the will to act as a system, structuring a strong synergy between all the components that animate the packaging world and its related and associated sectors».
But beyond a high-level technological offer in terms of machinery and materials «capable of giving definitive answers to the demands  for productivity and safety - the President of Ipack-Ima Srl passionately stated - we will aboveall have the opportunity to explore together the great themes that traverse our sector, exchanging opinions on Industry 4.0, e-commerce, sustainability, anti-counterfeiting and serialization... Or again, the production specifications associated with “free from” food and sanitary design, own and private brands. Our task, as organizers of the event, is to develop the best tools to help operators share knowledge and expertise, so that the fair is confirmed as a proactive event capable of attracting qualified buyers from around the world and able to create business. And we can do it - concludes Cavanna - because we strongly believe in this project and because, to coin a phrase “the fair is us”».

Shared project
Automatic processing and packaging machines and packing materials will hence find a strategic and privileged position thanks to the initiatives that feature in the new course of Ipack-Ima.
In his speech Domenico Lunghi brought to the attention of the audience the advantages associated with the Innovation Alliance, the exhibition project created to bring together Ipack-Ima, Plast, Print4All, Intralogistica Italia and Meat-Tech, representing synergistic and complementary sectors in a single solution.
«Basically, an entire industry at the fair: From plastic processing technologies to technology for processing and creating, printing and customizing packaging and labels for food and non-food products, and the subsequent handling and storage of goods. Behind the project, a strong conviction: “The Innovation Alliance” was created to be a natural multiplier of opportunities for all these events, in various ways associated with packaging. A complete overview of an industrial world of such a complexity is of sure attraction to visitors».

Visit to the fair: machines and materials, scheduled encounters and a smart catalogue
Spread out over eight halls subdivided and organized according exhibitor business communities, Ipack-Ima will at any rate be an evermore shared and sharable event, also thanks to a clearer redistribution of specific product categories: pasta, bakery, milling and confectionary in halls 1 and 3; process and packaging equipment in halls 5 and 7; non-food (cosmetics and industrial goods) in hall 4. Hall 14 will host equipment and devices cross-cutting the various segments (labeling, coding and tracking technologies) while companies operating at the end of the line will occupy halls 6 and 10, completed by the offer on show at Intralogistica Italia, event organized by Deutsche Messe and Ipack-Ima, and dedicated to internal logistics.

Among the new features in 2018, the debut of the satellite show IPACK-Mat, entirely dedicated to innovative solutions in terms of high added value raw materials, components and packaging. Located in Hall 14, at the centre of the fair exhibition quarter, it connects ideally (and physically) to PLAST-Mat, a parallel and complementary project of PLAST 2018, show which takes place at the same time in the adjacent pavilions. With the common goals of proposing a rendezvous for concerns offering and seeking solutions for the design and production of packaging (IPACK-Mat) and items made of innovative plastic materials (PLAST-Mat).

Last but not least, we cite two tools that will facilitate exhibitors’ and visitors’ exploitation of the event. Via My Matching, a platform for matching online allowing the high user profiling of users and offers tips, B2B meetings can be planned with greater assuredness.
As ever to promote the encounter between supply and demand, the organizers also provide a smart online catalogue, combining classic exhibition catalogue information with that published by companies on their web channels, also integrating with the promotion through the official channels of the two fairs on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
