Extraordinary colors for plastics
According to Grafe, 2014 brings new color tones, with expressive and convincing effects: sometimes bright, but at the same time elegant and never garish, or else characterized by metallic flashes that seem to project the colors into the future.
Of particular interest are the blue and lilac tones.
“Bubble effect blue” by the Grafe Group, for example, gives the impression of having sparkling water run through ones fingers: the bubbles encapsulated in the plastic renders the material vivid and dynamic and stimulates the senses.
Ideal hence the use in packaging: as well as enabling broad margins of maneuver in development, the final result captivates the observer, who is projected into a fantastic, enchanting world.
The coming season will also feature metallic shines that will give colors a futuristic appeal. An absolute must in the polymer color gamut, the intensely expressive shades of green obtained thanks to Grafe masterbatches, are appreciated in textiles, furnishing and in the automobile sector. Recently the brand Samsonite used them for their new series of “Cosmolite” suitcases: the shiny, lively green (that of a precious stone) combined with metalized effects and the carbon fibre of the outer surfaces give objects a classic and luxurious, at the same time dreamy and remote appearance.Luminescent masterbatches are also increasingly important for technopolymers. With the innovative products proposed by the Grafe Group, plastic objects glow in brilliant colors and create an effect comparable only to that of a starry night’s sky. And so, for 2014, these colors interpret a past that projects itself into the future but also knows how to make the present magical.
GRAFE Advanced Polymers GmbH (the Italian branch is at Turate, CO) “turns plastic into high tech”. Specialized in the modification of thermo-plastics, they develop masterbatches, compounds and pigment powder blends, offering their partners high quality solutions, through innovation, speed, and with the greatest care. GRAFE-Design-Center is active in the area of trend color development and is able to present the trend colors for the coming year as early as one year in advance.
