Packaging at its milestone
The fair interpack continues to mark an ineluctable time boundary for the packaging world, taking advantage of the opportunity to sum up years of work and development.
With 2,865 exhibitors, the world process and packaging technologies fair (4-10 May, Düsseldorf) registered a record of international presences with operators from 168 countries: 170,500 total visitors, 74% of whom with decision-making powers.
A privileged meeting venue, but also a platform for technological innovation, the Düsseldorf event that occurs at three year intervals, has further strengthened the new global concept of the interpack alliance, which sees its consolidation as a “reference fair” on world markets.
The business opportunities generated by the 2017 marked a true success, reiterated by the results of an official fair survey: About 98% of respondents stated that they were satisfied or very satisfied with their visit to interpack, which was hence reconfirmed as a must for all sector entrepreneurs.
Feelings
Something that the representatives of the Italian packaging industry know full well, that constitute the largest group at the fair after the Germans obviously.
The Italian operators at the fair offered a cross-section of an industrial system capable of innovating and renewing, while keeping faith to the values that have always emphasized its uniqueness: market and technological know-how, service skills, personalization abilities, and ability to co-ordinate the precious sub-supply networks that translate into a sense of respect for the territory and the people who work and live there.
It also seemed to us that the repeated exhortation of economists to a dimensional growth of Italian SMEs has now at least had some effect: Indeed during interpack, we registered the strong will of many Italian operators to grow also via external means and learned of various acquisitions and/or transfers and partnerships established to best face the competition on the global market.
Among these we cite the alliance between timehonored national entrepreneurs, as with the entrance Aureli family holding (Robopac) into the company capital of Ocme. Or yet again, the technological activities incorporated by global operators (we think of Eidos and PE Labellers, that have respectively entered into the orbit of the Possehl and Pro Mach groups): an implicit recognition of skills and competencies achieved.
But not only that: We also cite Messe Düsseldorf’s endorsement of Ucima’s activities and, conversely, of Ipack-Ima, what with their co-operation in promoting fairs organized by the German fair body all across the world.
In short, “collaborating” seems to be the key to market success.
