Robopac & Ocme: Never give up!
In Italy, as well as all over the world, the escalation of Covid-19 has imposed a revolution in everyone’s lives, with limitations, sacrifices, and with a long period of health emergency that has also put a strain on the entire socio-economic system.
While not underestimating the macroeconomic uncertainties that advise caution, the most acute phase seems to be closed now and we can say that all the companies of the Group have successfully faced and overcome this truly complicated period. The Group has proved solid and compact, united and determined to continue its business, with the same spirit and the same quality as always.
- From the outset, all the actions necessary to protect the health and safety of employees and co-workers, the top priority of the Group’s ownership and management, were implemented in each Robopac and OCME plant. Distancing, health facilities, established paths, smart working: all these measures have made it possible to guarantee the continuity of production, commercial and technical assistance to customers, confirming the trust gained in the hard years of work.
- Automation, digitalization, important investments in industrial (Lean Production) and management (SAP) processes, the exclusive TechLab laboratory system, are some of the tools that the Robopac group has implemented in recent years to improve productivity and support its competitiveness, ensuring high quality standards and strengthening customer satisfaction.
In the heavy criticality caused by Covid-19, an advanced structure such as that of Robopac has made it possible to deal with emergencies in total safety and efficiency, optimizing all resources to the best and further enhancing digital tools.
- Robopac and OCME have also taken the front line to support the entire local community and have made available technologies, personnel and know-how to guarantee the maximum possible help.
For the Emilia Romagna region, they have made over 250 thousand masks free of charge, reserved for the inhabitants of the provinces of Rimini, Bologna and Parma, and with further full availability to public bodies and Civil Protection for any future needs.
- The group’s commitment also went to the Italian Red Cross offices in Rome and Avezzano, to which two S6 PVS robots were donated for packaging with stretch film, which made it possible to better pack pallets of material intended for the fight against Covid-19.
- The Robopac UK subsidiary instead supported a whiskey distillery, which converted its production to hand sanitizers. Robopac provided the free rental of an Ecoplat, a rotary table machine for wrapping with stretch film.
Other companies joined this gesture - two suppliers of stretch film and a transport company - who co-operated for free with the English whiskey producer, creating a sort of beneficial task force for the packaging companies united in the fight against Covid-19.
A comment and a wish
«All the actions we have put in place - Enrico Aureli, CEO of Robopac and OCME - testify that our Group is always close to the territory and aware of its social role and we are proud of this. Italy had the burden of facing this emergency first and even if we are confused, we have been able to remember who we are, finding pride in our roots to recover from the difficulties.
The country is slowly starting up again and we are ready to push on the accelerator to close this delicate period and look to the future with confidence. We have the hope - Aureli concludes - to be an example of strength and courage; our people represent our companies, our companies are the heart of our great country, Italy that resists, the companies that do not stop, and the people go to it, putting their hearts into it».
