San Pellegrino: report on shared value
Taking care of water from its sources to the table, reducing environmental impact, supporting economic and social development, contributing to a future of health and wellbeing for people.
These are the commitments illustrated in the second report on the creation of shared value drawn up by Sanpellegrino, a leading Italian company operating in the mineral water and non-alcoholic beverages sector, with around 1,500 employees and with products exported to over 150 countries worldwide.
Here follows a brief summary of the key features of the report.
Packaging sustainability: more than 6,000 tons of PET saved in the last 10 years. Over 3,200 tons of recycled PET used for Nestlé Vera bottles and 700 tons of Bio-PET for Levissima in 2017;
Attention to environmental impact: plants powered 100% by renewable energy with a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions over the last 7 years;
Optimization of industrial processes: Over 115 million litres of water saved compared to 2016, and consumption of water in the production processes reduced to 1.76 litres per litre bottled.
