From Silicon Valley to Italy: Plug and Play opens in Milan

The Italian branch of Plug and Play, the largest open innovation platform in the world, the first international startup accelerator, opened last April.

The activities of Plug and Play Italy will be focused in the Food & Beverage sector, with the aim of creating and supporting new growth opportunities on the market.  Among the corporate partners that support the initiative, Tetra Pak (in addition to Esselunga, Lavazza and UniCredit), a multinational specialized in the food processing and packaging sector. «Being among the founding partners of Plug and Play is a source of pride for us», underlined the president of Tetra Pak Italia, Francesco Faella.

«Investing in the future by taking the best innovation proposals in Food & Beverage and supporting the project approach of  younger operators, as in this case, is a challenge that we gladly accept. Plug and Play was launched in the 2000s and has extended its programs all over the world, reaching a presence in over 30 global locations between America, Europe and Asia. It numbers 10,000 start-ups and 300 official partners, including leading companies such as Carrefour, Coca Cola, PepsiCo, Samsung, and Mercedes.  The national platform will be led by a team of young Italians, returning from work experience in Europe, Asia and America.
