The Germany Pavilion at EXPO and in the presence of Peter Winter (deputy and chairman of the Budget Committee of the Bavarian Parliament) witnessed the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Unione Italiana Vini (in the person of the Director General Francesco Pavanello) and Messe München GmbH (MMG ), represented by Reinhard Pfeiffer, Managing Director of MMG and responsible for drinktec.
Hence, launched last August 2015, the agreement between the organizers of Simei and drinktec was officially formalized in early October.
The aim is to unite the strengths of the two fairs to create a twin platform and make it become the most important showcase to the world for the technology, trade and the marketing of the sector.
SIMEI (leading international show among winemaking technology and techniques events) will still be held at two-yearly intervals, however, alternately between Milan and Monaco of Bavaria, as part of drinktec (the world beverage and liquid food technology show).
After the upcoming edition scheduled in Milan November 3 to 6, SIMEI will hence debut at drinktec 2017 (11-15 September 2017), where it will have an area of about 20,000 square meters dedicated exclusively to the wine industry.
The agreement reached, the first of this magnitude in the international fair calendar, includes an involvement of SIMEI in drinktec portfolio of events around the world in key global markets, where a the Bavarian event already has a strong reputation and presence, such as in drink technology India , food & drink technology Africa and China Brew China Beverage.
