Unitec Intelligent Packaging is born

At Macfrut the international group UNITEC, focused on innovation in the fruit and vegetable sector, with technologies dedicated to more than 35 types of fruit and vegetables, presented its new Packaging Division, Unitec Intelligent Packaging.

The new division is born out of more than 90 years of experience built up by Unitec in fruit and vegetable sorting technology and the strong commitment of the group to provide innovative and concrete solutions to improve every step of the process typical to the sector, now extended to packaging in other sectors.
The newly formed section in fact specialises in the production of vertical packaging machines for food (pasta, biscuits, flour, petfood up to convenience produce) and can count on a team of professionals with over 20 years of experience in engineering design, service and trade.
This knowledge now merges with UNITEC’s knowhow on internal and external quality of the fruit selecting technologies: cutting-edge solutions that optimize manufacturing processes in terms of increased capacity, savings and efficiency, enhancing product quality and ensuring benefits along the whole supply chain, not least to the end consumer.
Thanks in particular to the Ultravision systems, the numerous parameters that determine the quality of each individual fruit item can be selected: Brix grading, external skin flaws, selection of softness, internal defects, in addition to traditional parameters such as size and color. All this with delicate handling and treatment of the product during the analysis and packaging phases.

Being able to choose quality in fact represents a strategic asset and the innovative and reliable systems developed by UNITEC allow the fruit and vegetable sorting centre to plan its own internationalization strategies, diversifying export plans according fruit ripeness. Furthermore, UNITEC’s quality sorting technologies guarantee a constant and consistent quality of the fruit over time, with consequent increase in consumer confidence and, obviously, in the consumption of these products. All to the benefit of both business and image.
