Objectives and requirements of the Lombard company in the words of its President, Alessandro Casiraghi.
What is DCM’s role in the Food & Beverage sector?
We are to all intents and purposes a reference point in the field of automation and we offer ourselves as a single interlocutor able to respond to the needs of various industrial sectors, from food & beverage to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, to logistics and e-commerce. In recent years, however, we have invested significant resources in expanding the specific proposals for the food & beverage sector, borrowing from the decades of experience acquired in the pharma sector with the supply of industrial robots, bending machines, feeding systems as well as inspection and control systems, which has allowed us to initiate successful collaborations with a growing number of first level players.
Which solutions are attracting the most interest?
Alessandro Casiraghi
Currently, in the food sector, I would say our robotic solutions proposal. Thanks to a complete range of Delta and anthropomorphic robots, we are able to meet even the most specific requirements. A central role is played by the Hygienic Design versions for primary packaging applications, with IP ratings up to 69K.
In parallel, we have a wide range of feeders for dispensing individual products or products on a roll (chocolate bar wrappers, food bags, sachets of granular or liquid products, straws, lids, etc.). In any case, we are convinced that, in all applications, the key to success is the possibility to customize the solution, identifying the right product according to the customer’s needs... an exercise that at DCM we constantly put into practice, since it is in our DNA.
Targeted consultancy at the service of manufacturers: is this the nature of your approach to customers?
The methodology we follow is transversal to the technologies we supply and can be summed up quite simply in our vision... It is not by chance, in fact, that we present ourselves as “experts in putting everything in its place”. From this derives our mission, which puts the customer at the center of our activity. In the case of machine manufacturers, DCM’s objective is to identify the solution that allows their lines to achieve the best performance, facilitating upstream the study and design activities. From this point of view, every supply we carry out is always the result of an important process of listening and scrupulous investigation, conducted in close collaboration with the customer, to identify his specific technical needs and any critical issues to be resolved. Although this approach is sometimes, at first, considered intrusive, we can affirm without exception that our most successful experiences are derived from the patient coordination and in-depth analysis of the technical problems solved together with the customers.
