The value of Cosmoprof WorldWide. Enrico Zannini speaks out

The 2022 in-person edition of Cosmoprof & Cosmopack is a message of hope: an exhortation to look between the folds of a multifaceted industrial and production reality, capable of creating relationships that move the economy. Enrico Zannini, Director of Cosmoprof WorldWide at BolognaFiere Cosmoprof Spa, tells us about it.

In your opinion, how and how much will geopolitical instability (in particular the war between Russia and Ukraine) affect the next edition of the fair?

At the moment we can say that the 2022 edition will be in line with the 2019 edition in terms of exhibitors present. Net of the difficulties with exhibitors from China and Taiwan due to the anti-covid restrictions still in place in these countries, the more than 2,700 exhibitors from more than 70 countries is a figure in line with previous years. We also registered an increase of more than 30% of companies attending the event for the first time or returning after years, and this comforts us because it means that the Cosmoprof brand continues to transform and adapt to market needs. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is not affecting the event at the moment. To date, we have registered operators from over 80 countries. We are therefore confidently awaiting international operators.

What are the likely repercussions on this year's Cosmoprof global platform events?

In order to overcome the restrictions still in force in China, which therefore do not allow companies and operators to serenely organize a business trip, Cosmoprof Asia 2022 will be held in Singapore instead of Hong Kong, as per tradition. A decision taken with our partners of Informa Markets to offer professionals a business experience in safety and serenity. The other events in the network have not changed.

What is the value of the synergy between Cosmoprof & Cosmopack?

The synergy between the two shows is even more fundamental today, after these months of exclusively online interactions, because finally the brand owners at Cosmoprof can relate to their manufacturers in person, testing the most innovative solutions of the supply chain leaders present at Cosmopack. The event will be an important return to the traditional exchange between supply and demand, and will be the cradle of new collaborations and partnerships for the development of new product lines.
