Sustainability, innovation and skills at SPS Italia 2023
At the 11th edition of SPS Italia, the automation and digital exhibition for intelligent and sustainable industry scheduled to take place in Parma from 23 to 25 May, visitors and exhibitors will be able to discover the best of automation technologies at the service of the transformation of industry towards 4.0.
A pathway to innovation
In the District 4.0 area, working demos and application cases will illustrate the potential of solutions dedicated to Digital&Software, Robotics and Mechatronics, and Additive Manufacturing. In addition to the already consolidated thematic areas, visitors will also find a new one, designed to offer a demonstration tour of the most innovative and sustainable solutions, in response to the constantly changing needs of the manufacturing industry to which automation must provide answers.
The pathway allows visitors to dwell on the themes of sustainability, circularity and flexibility, while the 'Sustainable Innovation' area highlights the role of smart production solutions in their three main meanings: automation at the heart of sustainability; digital as a technology supporting sustainability; emerging technologies for sustainability.
This topic will be the focus of the conference programme as well as the inaugural round table, together with 5G, additive manufacturing and cyber security. On the trade fair's official app, a series of routes will help visitors find their way around, creating an ad hoc itinerary based on application sectors and enabling technologies.
The publication of the Position Paper by the SPS Italia Scientific Committee is also planned, a document devised in collaboration with players and professional operators to define specific objectives useful to concretely foster a technological paradigm shift and identify the needs of Italian businesses.
From industry to school and back
To enrich the 2023 edition of SPS, there is an Educational programme that involves universities, companies, students, professors and technical institutes from all over Italy with targeted programmes and activities established before, during and after the trade fair.
In this regard, there is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Merit, companies and players in the supply chain most sensitive to the training of new resources for the manufacturing sector for the drafting of a common Manifesto of Competencies, designed to define the skills needed to enter the job market. Finally, the Job Opportunity area will also be given additional space, dedicated to upskilling and reskilling, where it will be possible to find information on refresher courses, job position upgrading and open positions in companies.
