Two new versions for the EH Series electric gripper

News regarding Oriental Motor’s already wide offer range, starting from the EH Series electric gripper, today available in two versions, with 2 or 3 fingers.

The new 3-finger version is designed to manage complex geometries, ensuring easier gripping of circular or spherical shaped pieces. Easy to use, the EH Series gripper is ready to be used as an innovative component in the design of machines.

Both versions are driven by a stepper motor with integrated absolute mechanical multiturn encoder and by a 24 VDC driver from the αStep AZ Series. The driver communicates the gripper’s data through an integrated programmer and, alternatively, can also be controlled via Modbus RS485, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP or Profinet.

A human-like grip

The simple setting of gripping force and time, as well as the speed based on the object to be grasped, enable a delicate grip like that of a human hand. The gripper is safe and reliable also for objects that can be easily broken or deformed such as glass or plastic. The ability to monitor information on the coordinates of the gripper present in the driver, which is sent to a PLC host, makes it possible to measure the dimensions of the load before gripping.
