Vision: high-performing adhesive melter
Introduced by Robatech in 2021, the Vision adhesive melter stands for high-quality adhesive application. Smart and sustainable, its modern design convinced customers from the start. In the meantime, more functions and options have been added, so that today, the Vision adhesive melter is even more attractive.
Different sizes and variations to suit all needs
In the past two years, the family of Vision melters has grown. Vision is now available in different sizes and variations. Melt rates from 5 to 18 kg/h are covered by the updated models. The adhesive tank comes in two versions: the classic tank for high adhesive consumption is suitable for pillows and blocks as well as for granules. The so-called tankless version, on the other hand, offers an increased melt rate by melting small amounts of adhesive granules on demand - using an automatic filling system. With only a small tank volume, the adhesive is heated up quickly, using less energy. Short processing times also help to prevent charring. Other options include different field bus systems for system integration, touch displays, and transformers for the American market.
Integrated pattern control. The highly anticipated AS40 pattern control is available in the Pro versions. It allows customers to program up to 32 glue lines per channel, dot or line mode, fixed length, or automatic length adjustment. In addition, format-specific settings and application patterns can be stored in over 1,000 jobs and retrieved manually or by PLC.
TESTIFYING TO VISION’S SUCCESS
Simple maintenance. The first Vision melter was integrated into an end-of-line packaging solution by the Italian OEM IMACH for their customer Caffè IZZO. They were convinced of Vision’s modern design, which promised both ease of use and increased sustainability due to energy savings. Another reason for choosing the then brand-new Vison melter was the simplicity of maintenance. The maintenance door gives access to all maintenance-related components, while the SmartTerminal indicates its operating status on the LED display. Even from a distance, the operating personnel can recognize whether the gluing process is running smoothly or whether, for example, the adhesive needs to be refilled.
48% less energy. JTI Switzerland wanted to know it for certain and tested the Vision melter together with the Performa heated hose. In parallel with the system they had been using so far, they tested the Vision S melter, two Performa heated hoses, and two AX Diamond jetting heads for bead application. Robatech’s system used 48% less energy compared to competitors and much less that the 20% declared originally.
