Bubble Guard® for food

The idea of ​​a structural sandwich panel consisting of two faces or “skins” and a “core” of bubbles full of air, is not new. The novelty lies, rather, in its inline coextrusion without the use of glues, and Bubble Guard® Board meets this requirement. We refer to the original solution completely made ​​of polypropylene, created by Imballaggi Protettivi of Massalengo (Lodi).

Structure, function and uses
Bubble Guard® Board features lightness, impermeability, resistance homogeneous, ductility in the production and converting processes, and is intended for the production of disposable and reusable packaging, layer pads, separators, containers for countless markets (logistics, automotive, pharmaceutical, food).
These applications are possible as the material facilitates converting operations: cold punching (blanking the flat plate with open edge), recommended when visual appeal is unimportant; hot stamping (punching of the flat plate with closed edge) preferred if visual appeal is an issue; thermoforming.

WITH FRUIT AND VEGETABLES CRATES IN BUBBLE GUARD BOARD, Imballaggi Protettivi intends expanding its offer by proposing new products for the food market. Among the most significant features (that has the product stand out from commonly used materials, such as cardboard, injected plastic, wood and polystyrene), firstly PP’s good food contactability, weight and shape stability even if in contact with water or moisture,  its easy workability and potential for a strong graphic customization (with digital printing, screen printing or inline lamination with preprinted BOPP film). If hot punched (closed edges), the crate can be washed and sanitized, and then reused, in line with the company’s philosophy that, as always, thinks sustainable, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of its output.
