Household appliances: change of label

From energy efficiency to noise emissions, going by way of the reduction of environmental impact: household appliances have also made great strides on the road to sustainability, to the point of requiring the introduction of new energy labels.

The new energy label will enter into force in 2013, and to properly classify all the environmental parameters requires a clear distinction between traditional performances, identified and regulated by European directives with the aim to optimize the environmental performance of products, and "high" performances, achieved by each single producer that surpass the general standards. These and other topics will be discussed in a dedicated workshop "Performance and High Performance", organized January 25th 2012 in Milan by IMQ, Istituto Italiano del Marchio di Qualità (info at www.imq.it).
