Called ADW drives series and developed by RTA Srl (Marcignago, PV) to serve the multiple applications that require flexibility and precision in adjusting motor rotation speed, these drives include an evolved speed control solution - the Intelligent Speed Controller - which allows continuous adjustment through an analog signal, or discretely by choosing from one of 64 bottom-of-the-scale pre-settings, between the extreme low and high speed rates.
Moreover, thanks to the adaptive microstepping intelligent management, smooth movement is guaranteed, with a significant reduction of the acoustic noise and vibration, while the additional selfbraking functionality blocks the rotation of the motor automatically when the minimum set speed has been reached.
These features make the ADVdrive alternative to the conventional system composed of inverter and induction motor for controlling conveyor belts, with a broader range of speed and reduced overall dimensions of the entire system.
ADW 06.V in the web store. The ADW series features a medium voltage tension range (up to 75 VDC), maximum compactness, quiet and versatile operation. All models are equipped with chopper system amplifiers with MOSFET high performance stages and protection against short circuiting, power surges and temperature.
Among them, the model ADW 06.V - that can also be purchased online, in the "store" that RTA has launched on its website - comprises an open-frame format 122 x 93.5 x 25 mm card and is equipped with screw connectors, divided into logic and power. It can control stepper motors with nominla current up to 6 Amps, and constitutes the perfect choice for medium power applications.
