Pallet flow system: efficiency guaranteed

The Egyptian Juhayna Food Industries, a leader in the dairy sector, had to completely rethink its internal logistics and warehousing system, where quick stock rotation is essential. Following a suggestion by the concern’s historic supplier of shelving and warehouse solutions (Link Misr), Juhayna therefore got Interroll involved in redesigning its logistical structures. Interroll proposed its “first-in, first-out” (FIFO) dynamic storage solutions in order to guarantee high storage density and automatic stock rotation with the lowest possible number of forklift trips, which are necessary for managing flows of goods.
Advantages of the application
The Juhayna Food Industries complex, with four stories, has a total capacity of 2,680 plastic pallets whose weights vary between 600 and 1000 kg. In order to guarantee delay-free functioning and high safety standards, a selection of pallets (just as they are when they reach the customers) was sent to Interroll’s excellence center for dynamic storage at Roche-sur-Yon, France, which carried out a series of tests. Various loads where tested under controlled conditions on roller lines, taking into consideration the incline, controlled picking speed, separation and re-deployment speed of the pallets.
The Interroll dynamic storage system is known for reducing energy use. It is characterized by a series of tracks that function on the principle of gradient (the motion of the pallets is generated by the force of gravity). In other words, energy consumption is zero, and there is no negative impact on the environment.
Thanks to this track system, Interroll’s dynamic storage systems manage to achieve maximum performance with a minimal use of space. Furthermore, this guarantees the system with maximum flexibility, making it easily adaptable for future requirements.
