The perfect packaging

TEA AND COFFEE A successful international debut for Tecnomeccanica following its acquisition by Acma, a company of the Coesia Group: the double chamber tea bags made by the T4 Modula packaging machine proved popular among attendees.

The results were very positive for the Tea&Coffee Trade Fair (Vienna, March 25th-27th), during which creations following Tecnomeccanica’s integration with Acma, a Coesia Group concern, were presented for the first time. And these creations have proven to be worthwhile, given the increased number of visits at the stand (registered contacts increased by 40% compared to 2010).
The credit for such interest goes in particular to the new tea packaging solution produced by the T4 Modula, but this interest was also aroused by the entire catalog of solutions developed by Tecnomeccanica, which knew how to capitalize on the technological push given it by Acma’s engineering division.

A “poker” of solutions. The tea packaging solutions presentd in Vienna involve different types of single or double chamber bags for granular or full leaf products.
But, as mentioned above, the biggest attraction to the stand was the new packaging produced by the T4 Modula model. This innovative and totally “Made in Bologna” machine, in fact, will be capable of executing the “perfect packaging” for tea, at an accessible price and guaranteeing high performance.

T4 will produce double chamber bags (the tea bags most preferred by the market), equipped with hard tags and sealed without the use of glue or metal. In fact, the machine will be capable of performing a particularly advanced closure operation that employs a thread of biodegradable material, pinned to that tag at one end and closing the bag at the other. Operators at the fair were struck by the presentation of the T4 system, consisting in a mock-up of the entire work cycle of the machine on a 1-to-1 scale. A video showed the functioning of some components, including the heart of the primary packaging system, illustrating the machine’s modular construction, effective technical design and flexibility, which together make it suitable for meeting diverse requirements.

Team spirit. The spectrum of solutions presented at Tea&Coffee was particularly wide also thanks to the recent technical and commercial integration between Acma and Volpak (also part of the Coesia Group): there were many proposals for packaging tea and coffee, in powder or loose, in flexible bags, including stand up version (doypack). To complete the offer, end of line solutions suitable for packaging bags, pads and single portions in trays.
