Standard frameless servomotors for every application

Modular design, small size and mass, high power density: The new WITTENSTEIN cyber motor small line frameless cyber® kit servomotors enable versatile, compact and highly dynamic drive solutions.

The new frameless cyber® kit line small from WITTENSTEIN cyber motor consists of high-tech standard servomotors that combine low space requirements and low mass with increased power and torque density. Available in different variants, optimized according to the application, they have a modular and versatile design that makes them perfect in the most varied production contexts: for example, they are frequently used on the wrists of pick & place robots or delta on packaging lines, while in the pharmaceutical sector they are often used on dispensers or distributors.

Among the most significant advantages is the extreme design flexibility, made possible by the elimination of the housing and bearing. The size, low mass and high power density (thanks to the best-in-class torque-optimized motor) allow compact drive solutions with high dynamics.

User-friendly design. The frameless cyber® kit line small is available in two sizes, with an outer diameter of 50 mm and 85 mm respectively. Each size is offered in three different lengths, two winding voltage classes (60 V and 600 V) and two different hollow shaft sizes.

One of the most significant peculiarities of the servomotors of this range is represented by the large hollow shaft, which allows a considerable design simplification. These peculiar design features not only facilitate positioning and installation on the machine, but at the same time guarantee considerable savings in maintenance time and costs. It is also possible to integrate a spindle inside the hollow shaft, further reducing overall dimensions in length.

Multiple options for connectivity. Integrated temperature sensors (PTC and PT1000) and optional Hall sensors offer a variety of connectivity options. This means that frameless motors can be connected to controllers from all major manufacturers, including WITTENSTEIN cyber motor’s ultra-compact simco® drive 2.

Equipped with a multi-Ethernet interface for EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNET/IP CIP Sync and, in the future, SERCOS III, the simco® drive 2 servo drives offer the advantage of being able to freely opt between different fieldbus variants and, consequently, between different automation systems, using the same hardware. A variant with CANopen is also planned for this new servo drive generation.

As a further added value, the experience and expertise gained over the years with frameless motors allows WCM to offer customized consulting and dimensioning services, guaranteeing the customer maximum safety and optimized performance.
