Hi-tech for pharma

Quick workshops and machines, many machines: at Achema, MG2 will be organizing live venues to illustrate the hi-tech content of its new solutions. Spotlight on MultiNETT (System for measuring in-process net weight) and the GRP robopalettizer, an absolute preview.

MG2_MultiFlexa250_web.png"Innovating for growth" has always been a rule for MG2 that even today, in times of recession, continues to set its sights on the development of advanced technology solutions customized to respond effectively to the crisis.
At Achema, Frankfurt (the world pharmaceutical industry event), the Italian concern will be offering evermore versatile automatic machines and will be organizing a series of encounters to illustrate the most advanced solutions developed by its R&D dept. as well as related services devised for the pharmaceutical industry.
The encounters, lasting 20 minutes and structured to enable the proactive participation of operators, will be held at the Pianoro (BO) based company's stand (Hall 3.1, F31).
Every day, from 10 am to 5 pm, hence, a series of sensitive issues will be tackled, where MG2’s systems offer a valuable contribution:
- process efficiency and control effectiveness;
- 100% in-process weight control with MultiNETT on the high-speed MultiFLEXA 250 capsule filling machines;
- low and micro dosage of powders (MG2 is a global leader of these systems particularly used for products for inhaling);
- total scalability of capsule filling (the modular solutions proposed by MG2 will be illustrated, graded in terms production capacity, levels of containment and weight checking range);
- all round assistance services (the Italian manufacturer sees to the design, configuration, installation, training and qualification up to the routine maintenance, spare parts management, upgrading and support of data transfer/migration).
At the end of the day, during the so-called Workshop on Demand, MG2 will be available to operators to go over one or more topics and to allow them to learn about the entire line of automatic machines, dedicated to production, packaging and the world of pharmaceutical research.

A complete and specialized line-up

MultiFLEXA 250, ideal for pharmaceutical production which require speed and accuracy; equipped with two dosing stations suitable for any oral solid form and combinations thereof. The powder and pellet metering units are of the "no capsule-no dosage” type. To further optimize product flow, automatic capsule and product loading machines can be integrated as well as selection, cleaning and filled capsule in outfeed distributing systems. Also available in the "containment" versions, which ensures the insulation of the filling area and, in addition, in version "Wip", with an automated washing system in place.

AlterNova, alternate movement capsule filling that can change configuration and is easily adaptable and that can increase production from 105,000 to 180,000 capsules/hour at any time. AlterNova doses any oral solid or liquid pharmaceutical form and can serve up to 4 dosing units simultaneously. Reliable and easy to use, AlterNova is the perfect synthesis of the "high value, low cost" philosophy, offering a sure and fast return on investment. MG2_AlterNova_web.png

Planeta 100, high speed modular capsule filling machine (100 thousand capsules/hour) which enables the simultaneous mounting of up to two different dosing units for filling powders, delayed action drugs, micro-tablets, pills and liquids and multiple combinations of the same.
All these units have the same basic clove shaped machine design and are easily removable and interchangeable.

FlexaLAB, machine for R&D labs, clinical trials, small lots and special productions. For producing up to 3,000 cps/h, it is based on the same principles of operation of the high speed MG2 machines, facilitating scale-up. It can operate both in continuous and alternate motion, depending on the metering unit.

GSL10, horizontal casepacker that forms, fills and closes RSC boxes at a rate of 10 cases/min. It guarantees the positive and forced opening of the case, reliable feeling and positioning of the product, with an ergonomic design and rapid and simple format change. The case can be closed with tape or hot glue. To be accompanied with barcode readers, inkjet printers, labeling machines and reject station.

GRP: for robotised palletising and depalletizing

MG2_GRP.pngAn anthropomorphic robot features in the GRP palletizer/depalletizer, ensuring high levels of performance and maximum flexibility. The machine has a fitted modular structure that the user may configure with the functional modules as required: one or two palletising zones; automatic feeding of empty pallets with empty pallet store and outgoing transport of full pallets; inventory and supply of dividers to be inserted between the product layers.
The GRP system has many strongpoints: for example, it can be converted for use from European to American pallets and viceversa at any time and with the addition of only two spacers, the product pallet arrangement pattern is always easily reconfigurable, and the pallets can be loaded with products up to a height of 2,200 mm. The GRP robotic palletizer is the ideal end of line for the vertical and horizontal casepackers produced by MG2, but it can interface with any machines upline.

GUIDED BY THE PRESIDENT ERNESTO GAMBERINI, one of the founders of the company in 1966, the MG2 Group is headquartered in Pianoro (BO). Today around 170 employees work in a structure of 15 thousand square meters. Over 90% of turnover, which in 2010 rose to 27 million euros, is made on foreign markets. MG2 branches are active in the United States, Russia and China, and the business is entrusted to an extensive commercial network.
