Cover Display

What it is. Cover Display is a POP display in corrugated cardboard. Formulated in two versions, it was developed from the idea of being able to change the graphics of a semi-durable display (to-be-filled) or to “dress” stackable transport boxes with a cover that makes them a real display (pre-filled).

Materials. Recycled/mixed/virgin corrugated cardboard.

Technology. Paper converting; digital printing with water-based inks.

Design and/or communication. ICO has developed the POP materials thinking about products for which the manufacturer wants to vary the promotional message easily. The to-be-filled version consists of a modular back structure in NE wave, which does not need pre or post assembly gluing or rivets or third-party fixing systems. The trays are positioned by means of a modular joint with slots every 60 mm to accommodate products with a height of between 80 and 320 mm; the number and position of the shelves are free starting from 200 mm from the ground; the interlocking system of the side and rear trays is patent pending (same patent application as the Cover Display). It is also possible to interlock a corrugated cardboard pallet (Italian patent application number: 102022000019941) beneath the display for easy handling. The cover wraps around the front and part of the side of the display unit and is applied by means of joints that are easy to assemble. In addition to being decorative, it contributes to and implements the overall mechanical resistance. All components can travel flat, thus optimising transport and warehouse volumes. The pre-filled version, on the other hand, takes advantage of the boxes used for the transport of the goods, which are arranged so that they can be stacked (slots on the sides) and opened at the front with a pre-punched tear-off. The cover is applied to the front of the stacked boxes. In this case the filling times are eliminated entirely and the box used for transport will no longer be needed only when all the product has been sold. All the elements of both versions of the Cover Display can be customised by direct printing with water-based inks.

Sustainability. The display, made of corrugated cardboard, is recyclable and easy to recycle as it is mono-material with no elements of different materials for assembly. It can also be produced with completely or partially recycled raw materials and with certification of the supply chain of origin.
