Buondì, Girella and Yo-Yo are tinged with lilac
There’s much more lilac on the shelves from today! Buondì, Girella and Yo-Yo have entered the Bauli range, revolutionising their image with the iconic colour of the Verona-based brand. A change of “look”, therefore, with a totally renewed pack, simple but striking, in the classic lilac colour, without, however, changing the recipes of the three historic products, still today among the most appreciated by Italian families. Established over 70 years ago, Buondì is the result of the brilliant intuition of Angelo Motta, who decided to create a “snack panettone”, which subsequently became the first packaged snack to enter Italian homes.
Linen embossed in a label paper
Parade Label WS Linen is the new embossed version in linen inserted by Sappi Europe into its range of label papers. Parade Label WS, produced in the Austrian factory of Gratkorn, offers excellent printing and transformation solutions, especially in use on returnable bottles. With a double coating on one side only, Parade Label WS Linen is resistant to humidity and is mainly intended for the application of labels with wet glues. The embossing of the linen not only improves the look, but also the functionality of the label, resulting in better performances thanks to an improved separability of the labels and a much-reduced static adhesion. The paper, available in 65, 68, 70, 75 and 80 g/sq.mq, guarantees, moreover, better washability of labels when preparing bottles for reuse.
Small flexible and compostable sachets
Chilean health food producer Soy Silvestre has adopted compostable flexible packaging to protect their very special product “wheatgrass” and its nutritional content, previously packaged in 30ml plastic pots. The packaging structure is provided by Green Heart Solutions, a Chilean packaging converter who offers a range of compostable packaging products. The high-performance structure for Soy Silvestre includes a high barrier cellulose NatureFlex™ film layer sourced from Futamura, laminated to another biofilm for hermeticity. The solution enables automated packaging and effectively protects the fragile product through its life cycle: from the wrapping of the liquid product to the freezing stage, through distribution and then the defrosting process.
Not only is the product protected for its 4 months shelf life, but the sachets are also compostable, allowing Soy Silvestre to align the packaging to their sustainable business model and reduce their environmental impact. Futamura’s NatureFlex films are derived from responsibly managed, renewable wood pulp, and can then be composted into nutrients for soils, creating a complete circular life cycle for many products. The films are very versatile, with barriers to humidity and fats, and maintain flavors and aromas.
Tamper-evident closure for oils, dressings and sauces
Berry Global introduced the Pical Pouring Closure, the new solution for edible oils, dressings and sauces, offering convenience, functionality and improved recyclability. Fully compliant with EU regulations for single-use plastics, the new Pical Pouring Closure - part of Berry’s B Circular portfolio - features a special tamper-evident tab that drops inside the closure when the lid is opened for the first time. This ensures the tab remains with the pack so that all components enter the recycling stream.
Manufactured in HDPE, the lightweight closure is a one-piece design and of mono-material construction, making it fully recyclable. The modern-looking, flip-top design incorporates an active hinge with a wide opening angle that allows easy one-handed opening and closing. A venting feature and pouring orifice in the closure ensures smooth product flow and accurate dispensing that minimises glugging. The Pical Pouring Closure is available in two neck sizes (26/21 and 29/21) in a wide choice of colours.
