R+W expands its range of couplings for servo drives

With the introduction of the new SCL1 and SCL2 couplings, R+W has expanded the range of SCL series lamellar couplings, ideal for servo drives.

Particularly compact, they are suitable for transmitting torque values from 25 to 100 Nm.
Servo drives find application where great precision and high dynamics are required, as in the case of packaging lines.
The couplings used in these applications must compensate for misalignments, operate with maximum precision and have low inertia. The experience gained over the years has led the R+W designers to introduce the new series of products within the range dedicated to fast automation. Particularly suitable for high dynamic applications, they are lightweight, totally lacking in play, have a very low moment of inertia and transmit torque with extreme torsional rigidity, compensating for misalignments.

There are two types of situations in which SCL couplings are preferable to metal bellows couplings: the presence of misalignments, which the SCL lamellar joints are able to compensate to a greater extent, and the need for a fast replacement, for example in case of failure, as the modular design of the lamellar couplings enables the speedy replacement of a coupling or possibly only one hub.
