Automatic cleaning of drums

Evolution is a new automatic flexo printing drum washing system created built up by Rossini SpA. Performance guaranteed: uniform cleaning of the entire surface of the drum and better print quality without downtime.

Comprising electro-pneumatic/hydraulic units, touchscreen control panel and cleaning agent distributor, Evolution by Rossini SpA performs automatic cleaning of flexographic print drums using an innovatory oscillating system with cloth technology. The cleaning is done during the print start-up phase, with automatic release of the agent directly onto the cleaning cloth. The effectiveness of the tool is optimized by the uniformity of the oscillation movements performed and the mechanical pressure applied to the entire surface of the drum.
The benefits arising from the use of Evolution are multiple and concern various work aspects. In addition to ensuring consistent quality of the daily cleaning, even over a period of time, the system enables the creation and management of a customized menu, with ad-hoc detergents, to remove both water- as well as solvent based ink residue. Moreover, unlike the manual cleaning systems which require downtime every job change, Evolution enables the printer to wash-down before each new start-up without stoppage, as well as manage the changes without the constraints of width, enabling high flexibility in production and a sizeable increase in productivity.
Of note too the contribution to operator safety, in that personnel no longer have to access to the machine to clean the drums, and - last but not least - the reduction (less than 3 months) in return on investment (ROI) that is obtained by installing Evolution on a new machine.
