Albéa and Colgate launch the first recyclable toothpaste tube

Colgate-Palmolive and Albéa, two companies strongly committed to sustainable development, have teamed up to develop the first toothpaste tube made of recyclable plastic. The tube is the first to be recognised as recyclable by the APR (Association of Plastic Recyclers) and by RecyClass, the bodies responsible for setting recyclability standards for North America and Europe respectively.

A unique innovation in its field, the new tube is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a polymer that is widely used for milk containers and other plastic bottles and is largely recycled.

The tube was specially developed for the ground-breaking new Smile for Good toothpaste, which contains 99.7% natural ingredients selected for their specific benefits for users.

The Colgate-Palmolive group, which along with Colgate also owns the Sanex and Palmolive brands, aims to make all its products 100% recyclable by 2025.
