Building the box around the product

Panotec’s automatic line OPERA enables the creation of custom-made “just in time” boxes for various types of products to be packed and shipped. An advantageous choice, both from an economic and performance point of view.

Panotec is the first company to have designed and patented in 1986 the machine for the production of “just in time” custom made cardboard boxes.

Thanks to this system it is possible to protect and valorize everything that is packed and shipped, eliminating the need to use filling material where the object occupies a minimum part of the available space.

Producing a custom-made “just in time” box also enables the elimination of immobilized capital in stock, i.e. the packaging kept in stock, in favor of boxes optimized to the real measures of the product, to be made only when necessary.

It should be emphasized that a box created with the Panotec system enables the adequate protection of products that, contained in a custom-made packaging, do not risk damage during transport..

How it works

Panotec’s machines use a continuous 100% recyclable cardboard module, thus producing a “responsible” and ecological box and making the use of traditional filling and protection materials (bubble wrap, polystyrene, etc.) superfluous, eliminating one of the issues that makes the collection and disposal process more complex.

The complete solution that enables the attainment of all these advantages together, completely automating the whole packaging process, is the new OPERA automatic line, designed for the online trade and logistics sector. It is the only system able to automatically build, around the product, the perfectly tailored box, guaranteeing at the same time a very high productivity (up to 21,000 boxes per day).

In addition to the machines that produces custom-made boxes, Panotec offers a wide range of accessories that facilitate the packaging process: from systems for gluing boxes to automatic product measuring devices, from HD printing systems directly on the outer packaging to a complete kit of software that, in addition to enabling communication between the various machines, offer the possibility to coordinate and control production with advanced reports, also available remotely.

These products, offered by Panotec’s Meccaniche Italiane division, find their maximum expression when they are included in the complete packaging systems developed by Panotec Automation, other division of the Group, which offers complete automatic packaging solutions highly customizable in the manufacturing, wood and home furnishing sectors.
