Guaranteeing impeccable hygienic conditions

WITTENSTEIN offers an array of mechatronic solutions for aseptic applications in which cleanliness and hygiene are essential, such as in the food and pharma sectors.

Reduction gears and servoactuators. WITTENSTEIN’s Hygienic Design guarantees maximum resistance against corrosion even in contact with fluids (such as disinfectants containing hypochlorites or alkaline foams, which sometimes have harsh oxidizing effects on equipment).

Wittenstein_Riduttori-Corrosion-Resistant.pngThese solutions are made entirely out of stainless steel and are EHEDG-certified (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group); the surfaces are electrochemically polished, and the absence of sharp corners or grooves prevents the deposit of bacteria and microorganisms, making cleaning and sanitization faster and safer.
In addition to output shaft versions, there are also variants with flange for compact, highly dynamic applications such as those with Delta robots, and one model with integrated motor that enables a significant reduction in bulk. In particular, the “axenia value” stainless steel (AISI 316L) servoactuator is available in three formats, with reduction ratios ranging from 16 to 100, max torque acceleration of 200 Nm, a wide selection of motor feedbacks and IP69K protection grade (30 bars).

“axenia value” is suitable for sorting and positioning applications with a precision range of 10’-15’ and can be personalized according to the user’s specific needs, from high temperature processes for the milk & dairy sector to the super-low ones for the meat sector, from nitric acid treatments to those with hydrogen peroxide.

Right angle and coaxial gearboxes. Total protection against rust and oxidation is guaranteed by Wittenstein’s Corrosion Resistant coaxial and right angle gearboxes with output shaft, flange or hollow shaft. The input and output interfaces, as well as the various compatible accessories, including joiners, locking sets and screw-on cap closure in stainless steel, while the motor flange and housing are coated in bicomponent varnish, while the centering adapter is nickel-plated to maintain the necessary tolerances (g6). The line is lubricated with foodsafe grease, as required by NSF regulation.

foto_cyber_dyn_line.pngBrushless micromotors. cyber® dynamic line brushless micromotors are also available stainless and Hygienic Design, guaranteeing corrosion resistance. The materials used and their special design enable direct process integration and total cleaning. The stainless version features IP66/IP67 protection grade, while Hygienic Design functionality, also EHEDG-certified, in stainless steel, offers total protection (IP69K) against high pressure water jets, sudden movements and frequent changes in speed. In spite of this solution’s ultra-compact size, it reaches remarkable dynamics and record torque densities, enabling significant advances in productivity.
