High precision dosing of pharmaceutical liquids

Thanks to strategic collaboration with HBM, a leading German multinational in the field of measurement systems, Tecnomaco has developed a new stand-alone filling and capping machine for high-precision dosing of liquids. This is an important achievement for the Latina, Italy-based company operating in the international pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging machinery industry and rewards its ongoing commitment to research and development of new technologies, which are exported to over 80 countries around the world.

The application was tailor-made for a large Russian company and gradually improved through a series of operational steps until complete and precise dosing control was achieved, an important factor given the high cost of the liquid. Based on HBM’s experience, a solution with two FIT7 digital load cells was proposed: one installed immediately before filling and the second immediately after filling but before capping. The weighing instruments were integrated by redesigning the existing machine, which was unsuitable for housing load cells and isolating them from the rest of production. The most obvious advantages of the system include an excellent price-to-performance ratio and a simple and intuitive interface capable of reducing the risk of human error.

The highly effective installed solution allowed for a weighing precision of ±1% with a line speed of 3,600 bottles/hour (bottle size 100 ml).

“We are a steadily growing company that has had the opportunity to build a number of strategic partnerships over the years, thereby further improving the technology and quality of the solutions we offer to the market,” commented Tecnomaco’s Sales & Marketing Manager Alessandro Maria Iaci.

This quality is the hallmark of the entire range of solutions on offer, which include compact liquid filling and capping machines, counting machines with advanced vision systems, powder dosing machines, various types of blistering machines, an aluminium printer specially designed for blister packs (around 400 machines have been sold worldwide), various configurations of automatic and semi-automatic labelling and cartoning machines, and the end-of-line stage with a variety of case packing machines.
