Small lots, big customization

FLEXIBLE PACKAGING Tailor made small lots, quick deliveries, service, a proactive approach and environment: the winning cards of Sacchettificio di Rosà

“Dressing a product without stripping the planet”. It’s not just a slogan, but a philosophy of environmental sustainability that characterizes the way of doing things at Sacchettificio di Rosà (SDR Pack), which has operated for forty years in the production of flexible packaging for a wide range of products, especially food.

«Rather than large scale production, our work focuses in particular on concerns that need to demonstrate their excellence features», states Sandro Ferracin, the concern’s co-owner. In response to specific market trend that sees a growing demand for small but highly customized lots, Sacchettificio di Rosà is consequently now capable of satisfying the needs of food producers that require high quality packaging in short runs that are often diversified into numerous variants.

Service and environment for a unique product. In this type of performance, service represents a fundamental component and entails, first of all, constant availability in warehouse of raw materials, so as to respect the time constraints of the customer.
To this SDR Pack adds dutiful attention to environmental sustainability: «Packaging, once opened, poses problems of disposal and recovery - explains Ferracin - but it’s possible to change perspective and propose more sustainable materials and solutions that, in the long run, make a real contribution to protecting the environment». Indeed, thanks to a profound understanding of the raw materials involved and a capacity for employing innovative technologies, Sacchettificio di Rosà is able to identify and supply original solutions that are at the same time more sustainable. The use of raw materials that offer a longer shelf life is thus combined with reduced thicknesses and greater resistance to mechanical stress, making for thinner but also more resistant packaging.
«We have all the technical and consulting capabilities to recommend to the customer the solutions that best make value of the product and make it “unique” in its class» - sums up Ferracin, who adds: «and to orient them toward sustainability, conferring added value and nonetheless always guaranteeing compliance with the General Guidelines governing food packaging».
