Trays for food: good gluing

The market of trays for food products and fresh produce has precise productivity and reliabiilty requirements that inevitably also affect the gluing phase.

For this reason, for more than 20 years Robatech has produced hotmelt adhesive dispensing systems specifically for gluing cardboard and plastic trays used in the food sector, particularly for fresh produce. The characteristics of these systems derive mainly from the highly seasonal nature of this sector, which allows no machine stops. Robatech installations have thus established themselves among the major packaging manufacturers and their customers (hundreds of concerns worldwide, employing thousands of dedicated systems) firstly for their high degree of reliability. In particular, the availability of replacement parts and continuity between graphic interfaces are guaranteed, with the same commands as older versions, to the advantage of the machine operators and maintenance personnel (in addition to significantly reducing the cost of parts replacement).

Robust and safe. Many of the Robatech installations employed in the fresh produce sector operate under difficult conditions where care for the machine is not a priority. In this context, then, it is fundamental that robust and easy to use dispensers are used, such as, typically, Concept series applicators. Robatech recommends combining them with multi-module AX series guns, also with double effect, which are extremely robust and tested by the most demanding customers.
These systems are equipped with automatic adhesive loading, particularly useful considering that the critical point of this type of application is represented by glue carbonization. In order to avoid the problems caused by this, Robatech has launched the new automatic loader Robafeed, which enables maintaining optimal levels of melted glue in the tank and thus having the machines always ready, without risking overfilling, which deteriorates the adhesive and damages equipment.
