Acqua Dolomia reaches sales of 100 million bottles
With sales of 100 million bottles, 10% turnover growth and an export share up 25%, Sorgente Valcimoliana (the Cimolais, Pordenone-based water bottling company that owns the Acqua Dolomia brand) met all its targets in the 2019 financial year.
In particular, it consolidated its position in the US market and introduced products in new markets in Asia and South America, with India lined up as the next new destination.
All the economic indicators point to another outstanding performance in 2020, when according to Acqua Dolomia’s CEO Gilberto Zaina the company is expected to reach its target of 120 million bottles.
The brand has also set itself major goals in terms of environmental sustainability and reduced use of plastics. Well in advance of the European directives due to come into effect in 2025, Sorgente Valcimoliana has introduced rPET recycled plastic into its production cycle and aims to gradually cut down on the use of virgin plastic across all product lines while raising consumer awareness of the importance of recycling.
At the same time it has made a major €7 million investment to start up new returnable glass production lines at the Cimolais plant, with products due to be distributed through the ho.re.ca channel to nearby and medium distance markets starting in spring 2020.
