Daniele Vacchi elected chairman of the Friends of the Industrial Heritage Museum Association

The Associazione Amici del Museo del Patrimonio Industriale (Friends of the Industrial Heritage Museum), a non-profit organisation set up in 1997 to act as a meeting place between the worlds of culture and industry in Bologna, elected its new Board of Directors on 27 May.

In addition to supporting the activities of the Industrial Heritage Museum, the Association’s primary aim is to engage with younger generations and make them more aware of the strategic value of industry through synergies and relationships between companies, training projects, technical schools, universities and other institutions.

The local companies belonging to the association come from the sectors that have emerged as the historical drivers of the local economy, namely packaging, automotive, biomedical and the heterogeneous world of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Daniele Vacchi, representing IMA, will take over as chairman, while Sandra Samoggia from Fondazione Aldini Valeriani will serve as vice chair.

During the Board meeting, the directors resolved to resume the Association’s activities post-Covid with a focus on two key projects: the relaunch of the Industrial Heritage Museum through the Factory of the Future and the new role of companies within it, and the campaign against gender segregation and its impact on women’s careers within companies.
