Fiorentini Alimentari benefits from its plant investments
Fiorentini Alimentari, a Turin-based company specialising in organic and gluten-free food and snacks, has successfully reorganised operations at its new plant in Trofarello (TO) while continuing production and guaranteeing food supplies.
The result of a multi-million-euro investment, the plant is proving a powerful weapon in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic. Right from the design stage, the company had introduced strict health and safety procedures that are proving invaluable during the current crisis.
“Workers have to sanitise their hands before entering the production area, otherwise they are denied access. Admission is controlled by turnstiles. The lines are very wide and allow a distance of more than one metre to be maintained between operators,” said head of production Luca Perri.
The Turin-based company sanitises the common areas (refectories and changing rooms) several times a week, while production is organised with staggered shifts to avoid concentrations of incoming and outgoing personnel. In addition, suppliers and couriers are not allowed to enter the plant.
