Flexibility for effervescent tablets
Romaco Siebler (Karlsruhe, D) presents a line for packaging horizontal strips of effervescent tablets in multiple formats with the Siebler FlexTrans FT 400 robotized transfer station between the Siebler HM 1E/240 heatsealer and the Promatic P 91 cartoning machine.
In this station the pick&place robots transfer the blisters to the stacking crates, where the stacked strips are directly thrust in the crate chain of the cartoning machine, thus eliminating a series of complex internal stations.
With servo control unit, the grippers of the robots can work strips of tablets of different sizes and formats, for the first time enabling rapid toolless format changeovers, with maintenance practically down to zero, all to the advantage of suppliers and producers that demand flexibility.
On the Romaco Siebler line processing is carried out horizontally at a height of 90 cm, allowing direct visual control of product feed and ensuring two additional advantages: due to horizontal machining the effervescent products, sensitive to moisture and temperature, are not exposed to the heat and fumes of the sealing station; they don’t have to be transported upwards, shortening the conveying lines and thus enabling savings in time, space and expenditure.
The high level of automation allows continuous monitoring of all processes and working parameters, the identification and removal of single defective packs while reaching a speed of 1,500 pcs/min with 4-lane line. Space requirements are minimum: the line is only 14 m long and 2.5 m wide.
